Designer bags have never failed to catch my attention- or anybody else's I would think. These beautiful creations are the epitome of luxury style and just looking at them will take my mind far from mundane everyday life. These bags have the capability to transform a person's style and they sometimes are the perfect compliment to an already chic ensemble. Here are some of my favourites, by brand:
#1 Chanel Classic Flap
The Chanel Flap is the brand's most iconic bag to date and we've seen many other designer bags inspired by this one. The Flap comes in a few colours but black would be very simple and chìc + it will go well with any outfit. It can be carried as a clutch or extend the chain strap and sling it for a shoulder bag. The one here is an updated version of the classic 2.55 flap, featuring the iconic double C logo Chanel is most famous for.
#2 Louis Vuitton Alma BB in Monogram Vernis leather
Louis Vuitton's Monogram Vernis leather screams luxe style. Coming in three colours, the Alma BB is a smaller version of the popular Alma bag and features an additional shoulder strap. It is very dainty in its style and would be perfect as a day and night bag. Brunch/ afternoon tea with the girls? Lounging over drinks in the evening? The Alma BB makes an ideal companion.
#3 Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium in Orchid
Proenza Schouler's most popular bag the PS1 comes in a range of colours. From classic blacks and browns to strikingly hot spring-summer colours like the above Orchid. It's casual in style but the stand-out fuschia colour makes up for it and adds to its stylish + chìc factor.
#4 Givenchy Antigona
Already causing a frenzy among the fashionable, Givenchy's Antigona features a structured body and comes in a variety of colours and patterns. It is effortless in its design; simple yet edgy. It's minimalistic features captures the gist of modern-day fashion and the simple colour combination of blanc et noir + gold hardware makes it a die-hard want on my wish list.
#5 Mulberry Bayswater in Black Ostrich
The Bayswater is one of Mulberry's iconic bags. Simple in its shape, it comes in a variety of colours and textures. The above in black ostrich is very pleasant to look at and must feel amazing to the touch. The handles are not bulky or heavy on the shoulders and the simplicity of the Bayswater makes it an ideal bag for the work place. Effortless, stylish and a no-frills bag. What more could a girl ask for? Maybe two Bayswaters- one in black ostrich and the other in a crazy bright colour.
#6 Gucci 1973 Flap Bag in Black Snakeskin
Snakeskin, gold hardware, black. Très sexy. Perfect for a fun evening out partying, lounging or mingling at a cocktail reception. It is big enough to carry your average girl's essentials: a mobile phone, a lipstick or two, a wallet and other small miscellaneous items. Oh and it comes with a logo-engraved mirror + leather case. Perfect.
#7 Dior Miss Dior bag in Black + Gold hardware
The flap + chain strap combination seems to have struck almost every design house out there. I don't blame them for wanting to create these beautiful pieces though- the Chanel-inspired flap + chain strap combo looks beautiful. The signature Dior "Cannage" stitching screams elegance and style and the house of Dior did well to add the Cannage to an otherwise plain flap bag. The Cannage is Dior's signature flair when it comes to bag design, as can be seen with the popular Lady Dior bag. The Miss Dior bag seems to cater to a younger audience, seeing Dior has chosen Mila Kunis as the bag's ambassador but the elegance with the gold hardware and Cannage can also mean fun for more mature ladies. The Miss Dior may very well give the Chanel flap a run for its money. Who knows?
#8 Chanel Wallet on a Chain
Perfect for when you need to run errands and only need your purse but with the ease of slinging it over your shoulder instead of clutching it.
#9 YSL Zip Wallet in Magenta
Magenta + YSL = Pure awesome. This wallet comes in black and other colours and I would be willing to get it in black but magenta just pops with such bold colour.
#10 Prada Tri-colour Wallet in Black + Peony Pink
I love black. And also accessories in bold colours. This wallet combines both with the bright pink interior making it a pleasant surprise to an otherwise mundane all-black colour overall. These colours also compliment each other so well, it's perfection. The icing on the cake is that black is trending this Fall and pastels and bright neons are already making a huge wave this Spring-Summer. This wallet would be, for the lack of a better word, the lovechild of these two trends.
