Tokyo Fashion Trends this Summer

I don't follow Japanese fashion trends much because I'm particularly lazy to but I love reading about them and looking at the multitude of pictures I can find online.

A particular site that I really enjoy visiting is Style-arena, Japan. This site focuses a lot on the weekly street styles spotted around Tokyo. These street snapshots are divided between the 5 fashionable districts of Tokyo- Shibuya, Harajuku, Ginza, Omotesando and Daikanyama. I'm guessing a photographer would snap pictures of a particular random person and interview them briefly. Instant fame! Readers can then vote on their favourite photos and photos with high number of votes may entitle the person in the photo to a "premier" status on the site (which equals a photo shoot and a longer interview). For that, check out the Premier Style tab.

Alrighty, here are some trends from the pictures that I compiled:

#1- Strappy's the way to go

Strappy sandals, gladiator flats, lace up platforms- anything with straps! Many neutral shades, natural browns and blacks.

#2- Prints, flowy chiffon tops, florals still in

Everyone knows of the floral dress/ top + denim jacket/ shorts + Kago bag (straw bag) trend that hit Japan in April/ May. Well, you can still see people wearing this trend very well on the streets. Light, flowy chiffon tops are popular and dresses/ T-shirts with bold, colourful prints are making their way in.

#3- Straw hats, berets

Some still following the April/May trend with the denim and floral prints can be spotted wearing straw hats too. These straw hats compliment almost any dress or feminine top. Messenger caps and berets can be spotted too. Many of the guys spotted choose to wear fedoras.

#4- Geek Chic glasses (I love!)

Like 99% of the Japanese people spotted who wore glasses ALL wore geek chic ones! Popular among the guys too. I notice many college and university students wearing glasses with these frames too- particularly the Indonesians and Koreans here in Malaysia. I'm happy to say that I'd be getting a pair! Still waiting to collect them from the optometrist, heh. I'm not getting a pair to follow the trend however chic it may seem to be but I got them because they flattered my face shape and suited me perfectly. My mum thinks so :D (I know, big deal, lol)

Liese Juicy Shower Hair Mist & Cocktail ♥

Liese of Kao Japan has released a new line of hair care products that are getting pretty popular among the ladies.

One of my faves is the Juicy Shower Mixed Berry Hair-Hydrating Mist (that I have yet to get).

It first caught my eye...well, the promoter caught me (she literally jumped out) when I glanced at the cute pink bottles, at Jusco Mid Valley's pharmacy. She babbled a string of words in Cantonese that I couldn't catch and then asked if I understood the language when I looked blank. I answered yes.
She then took a clump of my hair and asked if she could spray some on it and I nodded.

*spray* and...

I wanted to eat my hair. O__O

That spray smelt so freaking yummy and berrylicious I wanted to use it as a mouth spray. So what does it actually do other than smell yummy? It's supposed to hydrate and immediately transform dry, frizzy, tangled hair to sleek, shiny and yummy locks.

And it did with mine. I kept smelling and playing with my hair so much afterwards, the shoppers passing me by must've thought I had a hair fetish. When I got home, I ran to the boyfriend and asked him to smell my hair lol. He said it was yummy-smelling ^__^

My dad said I could get it but I didn't because I wanted to wait a while to see if the spray actually worked. Seeing that it did work, I want one now. Like finally something that works with my REALLY stubborn dry hair. If you're looking to get one;

-Jusco Mid Valley's pharmacy is selling it for RM31.90 but if you have a J-Card, you get RM5 off.

-Sasa.com is selling it for RM20.50 which is a good deal. Only if you have over USD75 worth's of items already in your shopping basket so you don't have to pay for shipping. (I'm getting there...>__<)

-Sasa stores in KL are retailing them for RM32!! I guess that's why I prefer shopping on their Hong Kong website. More discounts :P But I wonder why they'd mark it up so much. Even the Dolly Wink lashes are uber pricey compared to their HK site. Edit: The Malaysian Kao site states RM32 as the suggested retail price. Boo.

Noticing that my hair was dry, the promoter also put some Hair Cocktail on the same spot she sprayed the mist. I must say both these products can work hand in hand because the part that got both products applied to it was very very smooth after like...5-10 minutes.

Didn't inquire further about the cocktail but am looking forward to get some. Sasa.com doesn't have it yet so I'll wait. (*´Д`)
