Wish List: F-Troupe Bathing Shoes

Image from F-Troupe.com

First saw these "Bathing Shoes" on Solestruck.com and I became a fan instantly. They were featured in an email from Solestruck and I would normally overlook most shoes but the bright colour on the bathing shoes caught my eye instantly! I think these Bathing Shoes are a revolutionary take on the classic sneaker shoe due to its material and bold colours. They are made of plastic and the idea behind the name is due to it being waterproof. It's very flattering on the legs and the diamond cut-out patterns on the sides are very unique.

Being summer, a Bathing Shoe in a super vivid colour would be perfect to match with almost any casual outfit...or even swimwear on the beach! They retail for GBP20 on F-Troupe's site/ shop if you're in the UK or around USD60 on Solestruck.com. It's a little cheaper to buy if you're in the UK but since I'm in Asia, shipping costs are currently preventing me from indulging in a pair. Boo-hoo.

If you're interested, check out the F-Troupe site HERE  :)
Or on Solestruck.com HERE :)

UPDATE: I just ordered a black pair off Asos.com! They have them in limited colours and are selling for USD28-34 plus free shipping!! If the black pair turns out alright, I'll probably get another in a bright pink :)

Andreia Chaves: "Naked" & "Invisible" Shoes

Found out about these shoes on Solestruck.com and as it turns out, they are currently an exclusive on that site. The futuristic and minimalist design of these heels are definitely unique and a nod to aspects of modern design- clean cut, geometric and very structured. Very cool concept behind the designs- the invisible shoe reflects light and mirrors its surroundings to create an invisibility effect; the naked shoe, from far, looks like a web of lines constructed all around the feet.

Invisible shoe. Retails for USD 3,995.95 on Solestruck.com

Naked shoe. Retails for USD 2,795.95 on Solestruck.com

What's more is that these shoes are made to order with real glass on the Invisible shoe and a 3D printing technology used on creating the webbed lines seen on the Naked shoe. They were released early February 2011 but were not as available until now.

Inspiration from the past: Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 RTW

I've been seeing a lot of mirrored print dresses, tops and bottoms lately. If anything, this year's mirrored Spring-Summer floral prints remind me of one thing: McQueen in 2010.

When I first saw that show, I was blown away by the unique prints on the dresses (then the shoes). Long before Mary Katrantzou even debuted her collection with Topshop, with her signature prints and dresses, Alexander McQueen had done it back in 2010. Alexander had this artistic quality about him and his designs that makes him so wonderful to watch. The darkness incorporated into his works never fails to intrigue and surprise. This was his last collection before he passed away in February 2010. He will definitely be missed.

Below are pictures from the Alexander McQueen Sping 2010 show. Enjoy.

I want those dresses! And the heels with the metal heel scream steampunk style, they're very cool-looking heels. I think I'm going to re-watch the runway show on Youtube now. Ha ha.

Haul: Zara

I wandered into Zara yesterday and was happy to see they had the latest summer pieces in store. I was happy to find a white blazer and a very nice printed top.

The blazer had a distinct silhouette and a very nice patterned fabric. I had to choose between this patterned white blazer and a plain white one in jersey. I went with the patterned one because the jacquard pattern adds a nice touch to an otherwise plain, basic white jacket.

Tropical print top/ MYR139.90
I also got this top from TRF, Zara's in-house line for younger women. I love the yellow and the mirrored effect on the prints. I think it's one of my more summery buys lately and I can't wait to plan a look around this piece.

Dior: Secret Garden- Versailles

Daria Strokous is the lead model in the video. She is so beautiful I don't even know where to start. Gorgeous eyes and one of the better-looking models I've seen ever. She looks like a cross between Carmen Kass and Sigrid Agren to me. Still, a unique beauty.

About the film, I would say it is one of Dior's most captivating ones yet. The music, location, models and the dresses...I couldn't stop watching this!

Edit: There is a longer version of this at over 3 minutes. Watch it on YouTube at this link.

Chanel Rouge Coco in Orchidée

I've finally found the perfect red lipstick and I'm beyond happy because I've never really managed to pull off reds and finding the perfect summer red is just too awesome.

I...recorded a video talking about the purchase. All you'll see is me talking and no lipstick because it was on me. So, watch at your risk...you may get bored, ha ha.

Am hoping to get my hands on one of the two new Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzers from this collection. Maybe the shade named Sable Rose below:

Blazer Love

I have this thing for blazers. I think they have the ability to frame a look and give you that sophisticated and effortlessly chic silhouette. Throw it over anything and it'll work...well, usually.

I've long used and perhaps overused my black jersey Uniqlo blazer that I got for way too cheap considering how much wear I've gotten out of it. Guess its time to add something new to my wardrobe?

Some ideas:

The blazers with prints will go so well with plain white t-shirts and some denim shorts or tapered pants. Perhaps a more unidentifiable print would be more versatile to wear in all seasons, instead of the spring-summer floral prints.

I love blazers!
